British Council Bangladesh Delegation Visits Daffodil Group to Explore Future Collaboration

A high-level delegation from the British Council Bangladesh visited Daffodil Group to discuss potential collaboration in English language education, communication skills development, employability, and preparing students for the evolving global workforce.

The meeting was led by Stephen Forbes, Country Director of British Council Bangladesh. The delegation also included Robin Clark, Chief Revenue Officer of the British Council (London); Talal Mii, Regional Business Development Director, English and Exams, South Asia; Tahni Yasmin, Business Development Director, English and Exams, British Council Bangladesh; along with other senior officials.

Representing Daffodil Group, Dr. Md. Sabur Khan, Founder and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Daffodil International University, participated in the discussions alongside the Vice Chancellor and senior officials of the Group. Representatives from Daffodil International University, Daffodil International School, Daffodil Polytechnic Institute, Daffodil Institute of Languages, and Daffodil Foundation also presented their institutions' ongoing initiatives and future plans.

The meeting focused on strengthening students' English language proficiency, communication skills, workplace readiness, and access to internationally recognized qualifications. Discussions also covered English language education for polytechnic students, teacher training, career preparation, and opportunities for knowledge exchange between the two organizations.

Particular emphasis was placed on improving English communication skills for students in technical and vocational education, enabling them to become more competitive in both national and international job markets. The participants also exchanged views on developing graduates with strong communication, critical thinking, and professional competencies to meet the changing demands of the global workforce.

During the meeting, Dr. Md. Sabur Khan said, "English is more than a language it is a gateway to global education, employment, entrepreneurship, and international collaboration. We value the opportunity to build meaningful partnerships with the British Council to expand opportunities for our students and contribute to the development of a skilled workforce for Bangladesh."

The British Council delegation appreciated Daffodil Group's integrated education model, highlighting its commitment to providing learning opportunities across different levels from early childhood education and schools to technical education, higher education, professional training, and social development initiatives.

The meeting concluded with both sides expressing their interest in continuing discussions on collaborative initiatives aimed at enhancing education quality, developing future-ready skills, and preparing graduates for the global employment market.
