Dr. Md. Sabur Khan spoke at the QS Summit in Bangladesh, sharing insights from his journey in building an industry and education ecosystem.

Reflecting on his experience of establishing Daffodil Computers Ltd. in 1990 and later Daffodil Institute of IT (DIIT), Dr. Khan highlighted one of the key challenges he encountered: developing talent that meets the practical needs of industry.

His experience led to an important realization after establishing Daffodil International University—that having a university and an industry ecosystem alone is not enough. Faculty, students, curriculum, research, and employers need to remain closely connected to ensure education responds to real-world needs.

Referring to QS indicators such as Employer Reputation, Alumni Outcomes, Employer–Student Connections, Graduate Employment, and Industry Partnerships, Dr. Khan emphasized that the role of a university extends beyond producing graduates.

He stressed the importance of developing capable talent, encouraging meaningful innovation, and creating measurable value for industry and society. In his view, strong university–industry connections are essential to ensuring that higher education contributes directly to economic and social development.
